Sailing Cruise 1: Fethiye - Kekova - Fethiye 

1st Day:
Arrival and embarkment on the yacht in Fethiye. With a welcome cocktail, you will get to know the crew and your fellow travelers. In Fethiye you can make a walk to the Lycian rock caves or ancient Telmessos. Overnight stay in the port of Fethiye.


2nd Day:
Cast off after breakfast! We will visit the dream beach of Ölüdeniz, which one can admire on nearly every postcard from Turkey. You will see that the reality is equal to the photos in every respect. The perfect place for the first day of our journey. After lunch, we will go on towards Kalkan, where we will dock in the Aquarium bay. Here we will spend the night.

 

3rd Day:
After breakfast we again drive to the beatiful area of Kekova to the Aquarium-Bay, where we will stay for lunch. After lunch we will sail towards Simena, a small peninsula, which is not connected to the public transport network. Thus, the city could be spared from mass tourism. You will be brought ashore by one of the numerous water taxis. There you will have the opportunity to visit the castle of Simena and enjoy the fantastic view over the bay of Kekova.  We will spend the night in the Gökkaya bay, where you have the possibility to visit an island disco.


4th Day

After breakfast we will drive to Demre, where you have the option to make a trip (+/- 20€ p.p.). The trip includes a visit of the Myra ruins (Lycian rock graves and old theatre) and the ride to the St. Nicolaus church, where the „real Santa Claus" was a bishop in the 4th century. After lunch the visit of the famous sunken city will be on the agenda. The ancient city of Apollonia, was destroyed in the 2nd century by an earthquake and engulfed below sea level.                        

The fascinating water world with the still visible ruins gives a popular photo motive. Then we again will anchor overnight in an idyllically located bay.

 


5th Day:

After breakfast we will sail further direction to Kaş. This picturesque little village with its offshore islands attracts primarily diving enthusiasts and sailors from around the globe. The bay with crystal clear water was considered as insider-tip, mainly because of its reefs, under water caves and shipwrecks. Some travellers settled here to open a diving school or a restaurant. Kaş is still spared by All-Inclusive-Hotels and is considered as insider-tip especially by backpackers. Here you will have the whole day at your own disposal, however you have the option to make a day trip to the Saklikent Canyon as well as to Xanthos (+/- 35€ p.p.). In the evening there will be a big barbecue at the port for all guests, so that you can explore the night life of the city well invigorated.

 

6th Day:
Today we will travel throughout the morning along the coast and pass the Patara beach. Time to enjoy and relax. Those who thint this is too boring, have the opportunity to enjoy in the afternoon, the unique panorama of the Ölüdeniz-beach during a paragliding flight (+ / - 80 € pp). For this purpose, you drive with a Jeep on the mountain Babadağı which is 1969 metres high. Here you will get a thorough introduction and then you can enjoy the fascinating view with an experienced pilot in a Tandem flight, that lasts about 30-40 minutes..In the evening we anchor in front of the  of St. Nicholas island. On the island there are several remains of a medieval town, which you can explore on your own. Four large churches and a gallery passage that connects the Summit Church St.Nicholaus with the Eastern Church, are the outstanding ruins. In addition to the settlements, the grave monuments, cisterns and granaries build definable assemblies. The buildings are dated mostly on the 5th to 6 Century AD. Furthermore you have in the bay the opportunity to try out a variety of water activities

  

7th Day:

Today, we will around noon return to the port of Fethiye. From here you can make a trip to the deserted Greek village Kayaköy. The area of Kayaköy was settled for the first time about 3000 BC. In ancient times the city Karmillassos was built here and later, in the 18th Century on the ruins of the Greek village Levissi was built. Today Kayaköy is a museum village  has a status of a historical monument. 3500 wrecked buildings have been preserved, including two Greek Orthodox Church ruins, which are the most important sights of the ghost town. Additionally there is a private museum for the city's history. In the village center you can find a well fountain of the 17th Century. Kayaköy has been declared by UNESCO as World Friendship and Peace Village. For those who want to finish this week in a relaxed way, a visit to a Turkish hammam can be recommended.  We will spend the last night on board, in the port of Fethiye.

 

8th Day:

A last breakfast on board, before it is time to say good bye to the crew. Transfer to the airport of Dalaman.
